“Highway”

Campaign

Highway is the  next short film from Award winning filmmaker Noble Banks. Highway follows Peter and Margaret, loving husband and wife, who are expecting their new baby boy. On a very hot June day, while Peter and Margret are on the highway headed toward the hospital, everything begins to happen a lot sooner than anyone expected!

“'Highway' is my most personal project yet. This story is one of the first stories I remember being told in my life. This movie is a love letter to my Parents, My dad Terry Shawn Banks Sr. passed away in 2020 and my mom is getting older and with this movie, my hope is to somehow capture even a sliver of the light they bring to the world. I believe that everyone who watches "Highway" will be able to find themselves or their parents in this story and maybe it can bring some people closer together.” - Noble Banks

The Countdown is On!

BASED ON A TRUE STORY

HIGHWAY IS BASED ON THE TRUE STORY OF THE BIRTH OF WRITER/DIRECTOR NOBLE BANKS.

Newspaper clipping about Brenda and Terry Banks giving birth to their son on the roadside before reaching the hospital.

June 22, 1996. 9 am. Shawnee, Oklahoma. Brenda and Terry Banks are speeding down the Interstate, headed to Ada, Oklahoma to deliver their new baby boy at the Carl Albert Native American Hospital. All was well minus one small (HUGE) problem. THE BABY WAS ALREADY COMING.

Terrified, Terry quickly pulls the car over on the SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, uses the Car phone to call his mother, She calls 911 to send an ambulance, Terry runs around the car as Brenda shifts her body. The next thing they both know, Brenda has delivered her son into Terry's arms. As Terry looked at the blue headed baby, He realized the baby wasn't crying or moving, they both feared the worst, when all of a sudden, Noble James Banks, begins to cry. This is the moment, Writer/Director Noble Banks was born into the world, and this is the heart of our movie.

Noble the Filmmaker

“I've wanted to make movies since I was six years old. I made movies all my life growing up, I attended Oklahoma City Community College in their digital cinema program, there I had the opportunity to work with legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola of "The Godfather" fame since I graduated I have been in the Oklahoma film industry for the last 7 years both as a film producer and film educator.

My first major short film "Paralyzed" is what I consider my directorial debut. Principle photography started in September of 2021 and lasted 3 days and after several months of PostProduction "Paralyzed* had its world premier at the 2022 deadCenter Film Festival and has since went on to several film festivals, winning "Best Thriller" at the Simply Indie Film Festival in March of 2023.”
